Peterhead completed a memorable week for their fans following their victory over League leaders Cowdenbeath in midweek, with a 2-1 defeat of second-placed Hamilton.
The opening period of the game saw both teams going forward, but neither side were able to fashion a clear-cut chance and the main talking point of the half was the sending off of Hamilton's Michael Moore for an elbow on Steve King.
Hamilton made a bright start to the second period, but it was Peterhead who opened the scoring after 59 minutes when a Richie Livingston cross was headed home by Ian Stewart for his eighth goal of the season.
Peterhead doubled their lead on 81 minutes when Craig Yeats headed home Livingston's corner, and although Hamilton pulled one back two minutes later through substitute Gary Clark's header, the home side held on for the win.
