Dumbarton grabbed all three points after a sensational start with two goals inside the opening five minutes as they beat Elgin 3-0.
The visitors were denied a goal after two minutes when Elgin defender Craig Tully made a desperate goal-line clearance to keep out a shot from Steven Bonar.
But from the corner kick by Martin O'Neill, Dumbarton striker Andy Brown rose to head home the opening goal.
Barely 90 seconds later, John Dillon broke the Elgin offside trap and calmly picked his spot to increase the Sons' lead.
Elgin never really recovered from their terrible start and conceded a further goal after 32 minutes.
Another O'Neill corner kick from the left picked out Dumbarton centre-back Jamie Bruce all on his own and he had time to chest the ball down before volleying into the roof of the Elgin net.
Elgin's only chances of the first half fell to Grant Monro and Colin Milne but both efforts failed to stretch Dumbarton goalkeeper John Wight.
In the second half, the game deteriorated into a very scrappy affair with the points more or less guaranteed to be heading in the direction of Dumbarton.
