Cowdenbeath left it late but two spectacular goals in the last 10 minutes secured the points against Elgin with a 2-0 victory which took them to the top of Division Three.
The match seemed to be heading for a 0-0 draw, and Cowdenbeath veteran Alan Lawrence was denied a late goal by goalkeeper Martin Pirie, who dived at his feet to pull off a superb save with 15 minutes to go.
But the Fife side kept plugging away and with nine minutes remaining, Cowdenbeath captain Craig Winter slipped the ball into the path of team-mate Mark Bradley who curled home a superb 20-yard strike to make it 1-0.
Winter then sealed the points with Cowdenbeath's second goal as he hammered the ball in off the underside of the Elgin crossbar from 30 yards.
