Referee Kenny Clark took centre stage as Alloa and Clyde fought out a 0-0 draw at Recreation Park.
The official tried his best to spark the game into life as he sent off Alloa's Grant Johnston and Gordon Greer of Clyde as the challenges flew in.
Substitute Johnston had been on the field for only four minutes when he was dismissed for fouling Brian Crawford.
Then a minute before the interval, Greer was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Hamish French.
Both sides were guilty of spurning a host of chances with Jamie Mitchell coming closest for Clyde when he thundered a shot against the crossbar with time running out.
But Alloa's Dutch goalkeeper Guido Van De Kamp was the man of the match, producing a series of spectacular saves to keep Clyde out.
