Peterhead prepared for Saturday's Scottish Cup quarter-final at Livingston with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Highland rivals Elgin.
Peterhead were under pressure for much of the first half, but Elgin failed to capitalise, although they went close to scoring on 34-minutes when Craig Tully had a header cleared off the line by Scott Clark.
The match erupted on 53 minutes when Elgin captain Colin Milne was controversially shown the red card for diving after being tackled by Peterhead defender Billy Herd.
The visitors made the most of their numerical advantage with the only goal of the game on 71 minutes.
Martin Johnston was upended in the area, and Craig Cooper fired home from the spot to claim all three points for Peterhead.
