Full-time: Queen of the South 2 - 1 Stirling Albion
Soccernet.com

Queen of the South secured a 2-1 victory over Stirling Albion to stretch the gap between the two sides at the foot of the table to 10 points.

The Dumfries men took the game by the scruff of the neck and went ahead after 20 minutes when Graham Connelly smashed in a 35-yard drive.

The Doonhamers increased their lead 12 minutes later when John Sunderland put a low ball across goal and John O'Neill fired it goalwards, only to see it hit Kevin Gaughan, who turned the ball into his own net.

Stirling failed to manage a shot on goal until the hour mark, but started to creep into the game after that.

And after 75 minutes they set up a tense finish when substitute Alec Williams scored within seconds of coming on.
