Montrose threw away two important points after drawing 1-1 at home to East Stirling, who equalised just six minutes from time.
The Links Park outfit dominated the first half and they missed a good chance on seven minutes when Steve Laidlaw shot over.
Laidlaw went close again on 21 minutes when he sent an overhead kick just wide of the target.
On 29 minutes Ian Joy broke on the left and his shot went just wide of the post.
Six minutes after the break Kevin Gordon went close for East Stirling with an effort which was saved by Gary McGlynn.
Montrose took the lead on 55 minutes when Mike McKenzie put Joy in to score from 10 yards.
East Stirling snatched their equaliser on 84 minutes when Gregor McKechnie took advantage of dreadful hesitation in the home defence.
