Stenhousemuir overcame atrocious conditions and a plucky Queen's Park side to snatch all three points with a 2-0 win at Hampden Park.
After a goalless first half Stenny finally went ahead on 54 minutes when striker Scott Miller outpaced the home defence to reach a Nicky Henderson cross and slip the ball low into the net.
Once the first goal was in the net the match came to life and the fans only had to wait 10 minutes for the second.
On 65 minutes Stenhousemuir made it 2-0 when their speed again left the Queen's defence floundering and Isaac English was first to pounce on a cut back and drive the ball wide of keeper Allan Smith into the back of the net.
But just when the game seemed to be petering out it burst into life in the final minutes.
With just two minutes left Stenhousemuir were reduced to ten men when Allan Blakie was sent off after he pulled down one of the Spiders' forwards and tried to push his way through.
And from the free kick keeper Gary Gow could only push the ball on to the crossbar and Jim Brown alertly headed the rebound into the net.
It was too little too late for the home side though, as Stenny hung on to record an impressive victory, which sees them leapfrog the Spiders and Clydebank to go fourth.
