Queen's Park just deserved their narrow 1-0 win at Stair Park - but it took a penalty to give them victory in a poor match against hosts Stranraer.
Veteran Ross Caven, who had come on as a second-half substitute took the spot-kick in the 77th minute after keeper Stephen O'Neill brought down Mark Gallagher, who was through on goal.
Stranraer, who had struggled with a makeshift side through illness and suspensions missed a great chance to equalise in the final minute.
Ian Harty was on his own in Queens' six-yard box when he picked up a Mark Weir cross.
He carefully steered the ball wide of Spiders' keeper Colin Stewart, but it also went wide by inches to crown a poor day for the Blues.
Stranraer's Greig MacDonald and Duncan George were booked and the Spiders' yellow card duo were Paul Borland and Mark Gallagher.
