Full-time: Clyde 3 - 1 Raith Rovers
Soccernet.com

Clyde carved out their first win in six games with a comfortable 3-1 win over Raith Rovers at Broadwood.

Brian Crawford scored twice for the Bully Wee after Paul Tosh had converted a 61st minute penalty to equalise.

But Pat Keogh struck in the final minute to secure the victory after Raith manager Peter Hetherston had voiced concern about the state of the Broadwood pitch before the game.

The home side had not won since their last meeting with Raith in December but they leap-frogged the Kirkcaldy men on a frozen pitch which made it difficult for both sets of players.

The visitors had the best of the early exchanges with defender Tosh causing problems down the right with his pace and determination.

But Rovers failed to capitalise under early pressure in the 23rd minute, against the run of play, Clyde took the lead.

Jamie Mitchell skilfully beat a couple of defenders on the right touchline before whipping a cross into the box.

Standing alone 16 yards from goal was striker Crawford who stooped to head past Guido Van De Kamp and into the corner of the net.

The visitors reply was instant and midfielder Kevin Nicol was unlucky with a 20-yard shot which grazed the Clyde crossbar.

On the half-hour mark Tosh again was prominent for Rovers whipping in a great cross from the right but watched in anguish with no takers in the box.

Clyde looked comfortable enough holding on to the lead although the visitors continued to have the bulk of possession.

Rovers striker Jay Stein latched on to a Greig McCulloch pass but his shot from the edge of the box was well-saved by Clyde keeper Bryn Halliwell.

Crawford had two chances early in the second half, heading past from six yards only five minutes after the restart and then on the hour mark shooting wide from the edge of the box.

A minute the later the home side were punished for those misses when Raith equalised from the spot.

Mark McLaughlin was judged to have pushed Rovers striker Andy Clark and Tosh confidently stepped up to send Halliwell the wrong way.

Clyde's lead was restored in the 64th minute when they too were awarded a penalty after Van De Kamp pulled down Keogh. Crawford took the ball and blasted it high into the corner of the net.

Rovers stepped up their efforts to get back into the game and in the 73rd minute, Tosh's header from the edge of the box hit the bar before going over and minutes later Kenny Black struck the post with a 20-yard shot.

But in the dying seconds of the game Keogh sealed the victory with a fine strike from 15 yards after being sent through by substitute Andy Kane.
