Brechin went back to the top of the Scottish Third Division with a comfortable 2-0 win over Peterhead at Balmoor Stadium.
Despite the bitter cold, the game began in bright sunshine and it was Brechin who opened the scoring after only two minutes when a cross from the right was headed down to the unmarked Lee Bailey, who rolled the ball home from two yards.
The second goal came on 26 minutes when Doug Coulston finished a fine move involving several Brechin players with a 20-yard drive, which left Peterhead goalkeeper Ivor Pirie helpless.
The second-half was a low-key affair with the best chance of the half going to Peterhead's Craig Yates, who dragged his shot wide of the target after being released by a neat flick from Derek Smith.
