Full-time: Stranraer 3 - 1 Forfar Athletic
Soccernet.com

Stranraer took advantage of the postponement of Stenhousemuir's game to march clear in second spot in the Second Division with a comfortable 3-1 win against Forfar.

The visitors opened brightly and were gifted a fourth-minute lead when home defender Billy McDonald gifted the ball to Andy Cargill, who carved open the home defence before Jared Stirling turned the ball into his own goal.

Forfar spent the entire first half defending, but Stranraer for all their pressure found it hard to level.

Eventually though they were rewarded for their persistence and seven minutes from the interval, Derek Rae produced a leveller as he turned the ball past Stuart Garden at the near post.

Paul Walker combined superbly with Ian Harty to fire Stranraer ahead after 56 minutes when his angled drive beating Garden from just inside the box.

And it was all over 10 minutes later when Paul Blair extended the Blues lead, firing home low after a solo run through the lack-lustre Forfar defence.
