Dumbarton leap-frogged Elgin City at the bottom end of the league table after a comfortable win.
The home side went in front on 23 minutes, Paddy Flannery was unmarked in the heart of the Elgin goal when Andy Brown's cross reached him and he side-stepped keeper to tap the ball home.
Moments later Flannery turned provider to offer Alex Grace a chance to stretch Dumbarton's lead, but his shot flashed wide of the target.
The home team stepped up the pressure after the break and Craig Brittain was involved in the thick of the action.
He snapped up a defensive blunder by Steven Edwards and laid on a wonderful pass that Brown tapped into the net on 59 minutes.
Less than a minute later Joe Robertson set Brittain free with a well-judged pass and the youngster fired the ball to put the Sons further in front.
Elgin made a double substitution late in the game in a bid to freshen up their strike force and Ryan Green and Steve Clinton made way for Des Irvin and Mark Slythe.
Tempers frayed as the sides battled and Edwards and Neil Whyte of Elgin were booked along with Dumbarton's Paddy Flannery, but it was the home side who claimed victory.
