Stenhousemuir ran out 3-1 victors at Ochilview in a strange game dominated by visitors Arbroath.
The Red Lichties took the lead in the 20th minute when Kevin Fotheringham hit a cross-cum-shot from the left that deceived home keeper Garry Gow and drifted in at the back post.
After keeping the deficit to one goal in the first half, the home side levelled five minutes after the restart.
Scott Miller cut in from the right, past Iain Good before firing a low left-foot shot from the edge of the box that went in at Hinchcliffe's right-hand post.
Three minutes later Brian Fairley's men went ahead when the Arbroath defence were caught napping after a clearance deep inside the Warriors' half.
Isaac English latched onto the ball and chipped over the advancing Hinchcliffe from 16 yards.
Seven minutes after that English headed a glancing header past Hinchcliffe from an Alan Blaikie to put his side 3-1 up with his 11th strike of the season.
Arbroath battled to the end, but were unable to break down a solid Warriors defence.
