In a torrential downpour Queen of the South and Clydebank fought hard for a share of the spoils in a battling 1-1 draw at Palmerston.
It was the Doonhamers who made the early breakthrough when a ball from Stephen Pickering spun in the area and striker Peter Weatherston was on hand to slide home his seventh goal of the season. Clydebank quickly took up the challenge and had the bulk of the pressure but just could not create an opening against a resolute home defence.
The home side on the other hand had the best chances on the break and Warren Hawke was unlucky with a shot which skimmed off the bar.
Clydebank brought on a trialist striker to pep up their attack after the interval and it paid off in 57 minutes when he out-jumped the Dumfries defence to a cross from Tommy Coyne to head in the equaliser.
Both teams put in a desperate bid for a winner, but the heavy conditions were a telling factor as players quickly tired in the final stages.
