Stirling Albion failed to score for the third week in a row as Queen of the South grabbed a 1-0 win at Forthbank.
The only goal of a tight game came in the 70th minute when substitute Warren Hawke scored with a 25-yard shot which seemed to deceive Albion keeper Chris Reid and the ball sneaked in at the post.
There was never much between the sides in this encounter. Peter Weatherson twice came close for the visitors in the first half.
Albion's best chance of the first half came in 42 minutes but Charlie King's header flew wide. Albion were reduced to 10 men in the 80th minute when defender Gordon Hunter was red-carded for apparently lashing out at Jarrod Suddick - a decision that enraged Albion manager Ray Stewart who was sent to the stands for his protests.
Ally Graham almost grabbed a late equaliser for the home side, but his low shot was well saved by David Mathieson.
