Raith's 18-year-old striker Dene Shields capped his full debut for the club with his first goal and earned Rovers a share of the spoils against Airdrie.
In a disappointing affair it was the Diamonds who shone brightest in the first half and deservedly took the lead in the 24th minute when a low cross from Scott Boyce was turned in from six yards by John Elliott.
Raith equalised within a minute of the restart, Shields firing in a right-foot drive from 20 yards out which Airdrie keeper Sanchez Broto could only parry into the air before ball dropped just over the line as the Spaniard tried scoop it clear.
Shields almost struck again soon after with a firm header from Jay Stein's cross but the ball crashed off the post and was cleared.
Both sides pushed for the winner but there were few clear chances created and in the end a draw was a fair result.
