The league leaders Cowdenbeath were too good for challengers Hamilton and ran out 2-0 winners at Central Park after their deadly strike force produced another stunning display.
Accies had plenty of possession but lacked penetration and after Cowdenbeath took the lead through Alan Lawrence after 18 minutes, the visitors were chasing the game.
A Mark Nelson own goal six minutes later made their cause even more difficult but Hamilton fought back and only a Jimmy Boyle interception kept Michael Moore's shot out.
Home keeper John Martin was then forced to save well from Alex Eadie before he superbly held David McFarlane's powerful shot.
Hamilton brought substitutes Gary Clark and Ross MacLaren on for the second half and they picked up the pace but their attacks lacked any real penetration.
By the hour mark the only action Cowdenbeath keeper John Martin had seen in the second half was a Nelson cross which he held easily.
At the other end John Paul Burns' 25-yarder crept inches over the Accies' bar on 58 minutes with the hosts looking like a constant threat on the break.
