Brechin remain in contention near the top of Division Three after an overwhelming 6-1 victory over near neighbours Montrose.
Montrose had the best of the opening period but on the 20-minute mark Moray Leask put Brechin ahead and they never looked back.
Darryn Smith made it 2-0 on 38 minutes then four minutes from the break Doug Coulston added a third goal.
Four minutes into the second half a header from Roddy Grant took the Brechin tally to four. Montrose kept plugging away and Mike McKenzie scored a consolation goal in 62 minutes.
Brechin soon resumed control and in 76 minutes substitute Lee Bailey scored after a mistake by keeper Gary McGlynn.
Two minutes from time Barry Donachie became the sixth scorer of the day for Brechin when he raced through the middle and shot home.
