Saturday, September 9, 2000
Full-time: Berwick Rangers 3 - 1 Clydebank
Soccernet.com

Berwick maintained their encouraging start to their Second Division career by beating a vastly-experienced Clydebank side 3-1 at Sheilfield Park.

In a goalless first half Berwick were under pressure from the talented Stevie McCormick and Grant Johnston but survived unscathed.

Three minutes into the second half Rangers went ahead through Marc Anthony after a cleverly worked free-kick with Martin Neil.

But the Bankies were level within two minutes when McCormick was upended by Johnny Whelan and player-manager Tommy Coyne scored from the spot.

Berwick regained their lead when Craig Findlay netted after Anthony caught goalkeeper David Wylie in possession.

A minute from time the home side clinched the points when a long clearance by Lloyd Haddow set Findlay through on the left, he passed to Anthony who back-heeled into space for Neil to score from close range.
