Stranraer ran out 2-1 winners in a pulsating encounter against Arbroath at Stair Park.
In the early stages the Blues were clearly on the rack until the 33rd minute when Paul Walker put them in front.
Arbroath levelled on 58 minutes when Steve Mallan touched home a Tommy King shot but Stranraer hit back with what was the winning header from Ian Harty nine minutes later.
Harty and Kevin Fotheringham clashed in 69 minutes and both were booked, but four minutes later Fotheringham was also handed a red card for dissent.
These incidents set up a grandstand finish and with Arbroath flinging caution to the winds with three late substitutes, Mallan might have salvaged something for the visitors.
He had two good shots turned over the bar by home keeper Mark McGeown, who inspired his defence to hang on for three well-earned points.
