Two goals from Roddy Grant handed Brechin City three points from their nail biting 2-1 victory at Peterhead.
Brechin got off to a great start when Grant cut inside and unleashed an unstoppable shot from 25-yards.
Peterhead created chances before they equalised in the 21st minute. On-loan striker Garry O'Conner battled hard to win possession before playing it on to Derek Smith who flicked on and shot home to equalise.
There was a penalty awarded to Brechin in the 35th minute after Billy Herd was adjudged to have pushed Grant.
Grant took the kick himself but his effort was brilliantly saved by Ivor Pirie who also saved the resulting follow up.
In the 60th minute a fine cross from Brechin full back Daryn Smith was played against his own post by Mark Simpson before the danger was cleared.
Peterhead created chances but were hit by the sucker punch when Richie Livingstone failed to clear and Grant netted with a right-foot shot.
This was closely followed by Scott Paterson's sending off in the 86th minute for his second bookable offence.
Over the 90 minutes a draw would have probably been a fair result but Brechin took their chances for a win they barely deserved.
