Full-time: Cowdenbeath 3 - 1 Elgin City
Soccernet.com

Murray McDowell scored twice as Cowdenbeath secured three precious promotion points with a 3-1 victory at home to Elgin.

Mark Slythe gave the visitors a surprise lead in the 23rd minute and they held on until six minutes after the break when David White levelled for Cowdenbeath.

McDowell had a goal ruled out for offside in the 62nd minute, but the striker was not to be denied 13 minutes from time when he suddenly found himself clear in the area.

This time there was no flag and the striker showed good composure to beat the keeper with a cool finish to put the home side 2-1 ahead.

McDowell wrapped up the win with a 25-yard rocket into the top right hand corner two minutes from time.
