Three goals in the first 30 minutes ensured Rangers' 100% Premier League record remained intact in the comfortable 4-1 win over Dunfermline at Ibrox.
Jorg Albertz, in his 200th competitive game for Rangers, stroked home a 10th-minute penalty and Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Billy Dodds gave the Gers a 3-1 half-time lead after Stephen Boyle had equalised for the visitors.
Rod Wallace hit his first League goal of the season three minutes after the break for Rangers' fourth.
But the visitors were rocked when goalscorer Boyle was stretchered from the field after a 50-50 challenge with Fernando Ricksen just moments after his goal.
Rangers had taken little time in showing the visitors their pedigree with three corners within the first five minutes.
But, after 10 minutes, they had drawn first blood.
Jason Dair had already been feeling the pace against Neil McCann and had little option but to haul back the winger in the area after a great ball by Dodds.
Albertz stroked the ball to Marco Ruitenbeek's right and, although the goalkeeper managed to get a hand to it, there was too much power and the German had his third goal in two matches.
But the Pars were not prepared to lie down to their more illustrious hosts and Boyle rose above the Gers' defence to guide home Rob Matthaei's cross moments later - to the surprise of all in the Ibrox stadium.
But Rangers were in no mood for the East End Park upstarts and, after 17 minutes, had regained the lead.
Clever play between McCann and Dodds gave van Bronckhorst space and time in the area and he drilled the ball into the roof of the net to give the home side a 2-1 advantage.
Worse was to follow for the visitors after 25 minutes when goalscorer Boyle was carried from the field after clashing in a 50-50 challenge with Fernando Ricksen.
The striker was replaced by experienced campaigner Owen Coyle but he had been on the pitch for a matter of seconds when Rangers went further ahead.
Tugay played a clever ball into Dodds who turned to drive the ball past Ruitenbeek.
To their credit, Dunfermline were still trying manfully to make a game of it but Rangers' ebb and flow style was too much for them.
Van Bronckhorst and McCann were constant dangers while Dodds was desperate to prove his worth ahead of the Champions League tie against Herfolge on Wednesday.
Dair was struggling against McCann and found himself cautioned after 38 minutes for pulling the winger's shirt.
But the Pars were still game for the fight and Scott Thomson could have given the visitors a lifeline two minutes before the break but his shot from Barry Nicholson's corner was tame and comfortably held by Klos.
A clever one-two between Dair and Stevie Crawford saw the full-back unleash a drive from the edge of the box which flew just wide.
But just three minutes after the interval, Rangers' 100% record was secured. Tugay played the ball to McCann on the right side of the area and the winger skipped to the by-line before playing a perfect cross for unmarked Wallace who nodded home Rangers' fourth and his first domestic goal of the season.
Ibrox captain Lorenzo Amoruso almost grabbed the fifth with a strong header from van Bronckhorst's corner but Ruitenbeek somehow managed to scramble the ball clear.
By now the game was won and the play drifted into the mundane with Rangers barely stretching themselves as Dunfermline attempted to move out of their own half.
Albertz was given a standing ovation when he left the field along with Wallace to be replaced by Claudio Reyna and Andrei Kanchelskis respectively.
Kanchelskis found himself in the heart of the action just seconds after his arrival when his cross was heading towards McCann at the far post.
But Dair appeared to haul down the former Hearts man although referee Kenny Clark waved play on.
Kanchelskis forced a great point-blank save from Ruitenbeek nine minutes from time after being sent clear by Tugay.
