Falkirk were worthy 3-2 away winners against Inverness Cally Thistle but they were made to work very hard for their victory.
The visitors made an impressive start and Gareth Hutchison put them ahead after Mark Roberts' shot rebounded from the crossbar in the fourth minute.
The Bairns extended their lead when Mark Kerr got onto the end of a cross from Kevin McAllister on 27 minutes.
The home side made a bright start to the second half and Martin Babidge reduced the lead from Barry Robson's cross on 53 minutes. Falkirk were quick to react and McAllister restored their two-goal advantage with a scorching drive from a tight angle on 58 minutes.
The visitors, however, were left hanging on by their fingertips when Babidge pulled a goal back from David Bagan's through pass on 79 minutes.
