Stirling Albion held hosts Queen of the South to a goalless draw in an exciting match which had looked likely to deliver a goal-feast.
The emphasis was on attack from both sides and in the early stages, Queens dominated with first John Sunderland and then Mark Weir hitting the woodwork.
Bryan Caldwell could have broken the deadlock from a rebound but his effort was brilliantly saved by Albion keeper Chris Reid.
But Stirling soon came into the game and Craig Feroz made a fine run from midfield to beat three defenders before unleashing a shot which just clipped the top of the crossbar.
After the interval honours were even with both sides creating openings but unable to press home the advantage.
The draw leaves Stirling still unbeaten so far in Division Two with two draws to their credit while Queen of the South notched their first points of the campaign after being beaten 4-3 by Stenhousemuir in their opening match.
