Super-sub Graeme Christie clinched a 2-0 victory for Brechin City against a Dumbarton side that promised much but delivered nothing.
Hosts Dumbarton, who had knocked Ayr United out of the cup in midweek, were keyed up for the game, but from the start the visitors took control and should have been in front by the break as Blair Sturrock brought a fine save out of John Hillcoat only 20 seconds in.
Kevin McCann impressed for Dumbarton and saved them early on with a telling goal-line clearance before bringing a good save out of Derek Soutar in the Brechin goal.
Dumbarton rallied briefly at the start of the second half with Chris Smith's shot touched over the bar, but eventually City's pressure paid off with Moray Leask scoring with a looping header.
The appearance of Christie - and his goal less than a minute later - made the points secure and left City boss Dick Campbell with a big smile on his face as he watched his side notch up their second league victory in a row.
