Inverness Caley ran out comfortable 2-0 winners at Caledonian Stadium against Airdrie and could have won by a greater margin had it not been for the heroics of Airdrie goalkeeper Javier Broto.
Caley grabbed the initiative from the first whistle and Broto made a fine save from a Dennis Wyness free-kick in the fifth minute.
The home side maintained the pressure and Ross Tokley opened the scoring with a 15-yard drive when he got onto the end of a superb through-ball from Kevin Byers in the eighth minute.
Broto capped a string of superb saves when he denied a well struck shot from Christie in the 55th minute.
Thistle's efforts were rewarded when Canadian inetnational David Xausa extended the lead from a Wyness cross with 18 minutes left.
In the last minute, Thistle goalkeeper Les Fridge denied Airdrie a consolation goal when he made a brilliant save from Gareth Evans.
