ALGIERS (Reuters) - Hamid Berguiga scored twice and set up another goal to guide JS Kabylie of Algeria to a
4-0 win over Tonnerre Yaounde of Cameroon in the first leg of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Cup
final.
The resounding victory, watched by a 60,000 crowd in Algiers, put JS Kabylie on track for a record third
successive triumph in the annual competition.
Berguiga's interception in the third minute set up the opening goal for Yacine Amaouche, who struck home a
left-foot shot after goalkeeper Guy Tamen Kemajou had fumbled the ball.
Poor marking then allowed Berguiga to head the second in stoppage time at the end of the first half.
Tonnerre had been reduced to ten men after the 29th minute dismissal of Jean-Pierre Mani for a clumsy
two-footed tackle on Samir Djouder.
Defender Brahim Zafour scored JSK's third goal after 61 minutes, rising above a static rearguard to head in a
corner from Farouk Belkaid, who was an inspiration for the hosts in the second half with his clever passing and
darting runs.
Midfielder Berguiga completed the scoring five minutes from time after he beat the offside trap.
The second leg is in Yaounde on November 24. If JSK secure the title they will keep the trophy, named after
former Nigerian politician Moshood Abiola.
JSK are seeking their sixth African title since 1981.
