TOKYO (Reuters) - The South Korean exodus at Kashiwa Reysol is to continue with World Cup striker Hwang Sun-hong scheduled to leave at the weekend, the J-League club has confirmed.
The 34-year-old is the third South Korea international to depart from Kashiwa in the past 12 months after World Cup
captain Hong Myung-bo and midfielder Yoo Sang-chul, who left Reysol last month to look for a club in Europe.
Hwang, who has made over 100 appearances for his country, has been hampered by a back injury since the World Cup
in South Korea and Japan this year, where the co-hosts became the first Asian team to reach the semi-finals. The
combative forward has been linked with a move to Major League Soccer club the New Jersey MetroStars.
Kashiwa fired English manager Steve Perryman last week after a run of six consecutive defeats and are currently 12th
in the 16-team first division with one match left to play in the first stage of the season.
