SEOUL, Aug 29 (Reuters) - Striker Hwang Sun-hong will join another South Korean international at Turkey's Trabzonspor after leaving J-League club Kashiwa Reysol, Yonhap news agency reported on Thursday.
Hwang is set to link up with midfielder Lee Eul-yong, who
threaded the ball through for Hwang to score the opening goal
for Korea in the World Cup finals against Poland.
The striker will sign a one-year contract with Trabzonspor
on Friday provided the club pays £300,000 directly to Hwang who
is not under contract, the report said citing his agent.
An aide told Reuters that the agent was on a flight to
Turkey on behalf of Hwang, but could not elaborate.
South Korea's national squad suprised everyone by becoming
the first Asian side to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup.
Three out of the 23-man squad have found new clubs in Europe
since the World Cup, and about seven are in talks on possible
transfers to bigger leagues.
Of the remaining players, three were already based in the
J-League and one in Belgium.
