BERLIN (Reuters) - Germany goalkeeper and captain Oliver Kahn has pulled out of Wednesday's friendly international against Bulgaria because of a knee injury.
Kahn informed Germany coach Rudi Voeller that he could not play after bruising his right knee in Bayern Munich's 6-2 Bundesliga victory
over Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday.
Voeller immediately called up Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Hans-Joerg Butt into his 20-strong squad.
Borussia Dortmund's Jens Lehmann was expected to replace Kahn in goal for the match in Sofia.
