GENEVA, June 21 (UEFA Cup) - Ipswich Town have been handed a favourable draw against little-known Luxembourg side Avenir Beggen in the UEFA Cup qualifying round which took place in Geneva today.

Ipswich, relegated from the Premiership but handed a place in the competition
through the fair play award, will play Avenir away in the first leg on August 15
and now have a golden opportunity to get back into Europe against a side who won
the domestic Cup in Luxembourg but were also relegated from the top flight.
Scottish Premier League club Livingston have been handed a favourable
tieagainst FC Vaduz of Liechtenstein, with the first leg to be played
inLiechtenstein.
Vaduz play in the Swiss second division due to the fact that Liechtenstein
does not have a professional league.
Aberdeen will face Moldovan outfit Nistru Otaci, who they will tackle away
from home in the first leg.
Northern Ireland Smirnoff Premiership runners-up Glentoran will take on Polish
club Wisla Krakow, while fellow Northern Irish side Linfield were paired with
Norwegian club Stabaek, who they will play away first.
Shamrock Rovers, of the Republic of Ireland were handed an away first leg tie
against Swedish club Djurgardens, while their countrymen Dundalk will also play
away first against Croatian side Varteks.
The first legs of the qualifying round will be played on 15 August while the
return matches have been scheduled for 29 August.
