MEXICO CITY, March 19 (Reuters) - Mexican striker Juan Francisco Palencia is letting his Mexican club Cruz Azul and Spain's Espanyol, who wish to buy him, decide his future next season.
Palencia joined Espanyol on loan for this season and the two
clubs have been involved in protracted negotiations over making
the move permanent.
'Everything depends on my agent, on Espanyol and on Cruz
Azul but I think it will be sorted out this month,' he said.
'I am just caught in the middle. I would be delighted to
stay (in Spain),' he added.
Palencia, who played in 14 of Mexico's 16 World Cup
qualifiers, is expected to lead his team's attack at the World
Cup alongside Cuauhtemoc Blanco.
He has been a regular starter for the Barcelona club this
season.
Palencia spent seven seasons with the Cement Mixers, helping
them become the first Mexican club to reach the final of South
America's Libertadores Cup last season.
