LISBON, Aug 10 (Reuters) - New Portugal coach Antonio Oliveira has recalled Barcelona striker Simao Sabrosa and Porto defender Fernando Nelson to a 20-man squad for next Wednesday's friendly against Lithuania.
Oliveira, named as national coach earlier this month, is
without Nuno Gomes, defender Abel Xavier and midfielder Paulo
Bento who are all suspended.
The three players are serving lengthy international bans
imposed by UEFA over incidents at the end of Portugal's defeat
by France in the semifinals of Euro2000.
The game against Lithuania in the northern town of Viseu is
part of Portugal's preparations for their first 2002 World Cup
qualifier against Estonia on September 3.
Oliveira took over from Humberto Coelho, who resigned after
the European Championship.
