BRASOV, Romania, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Nicola Ventola struck twice to help Internazionale Milan to a 3-0 win over Brasov on Thursday which swept the Italians into the second round of the UEFA Cup.
Inter, who won the first leg of the first round tie 3-0, were too strong for their Romanian opponents and qualified on a 6-0 aggregate. Ventola opened the scoring in the 14th minute after a spectacular combination with Brazilian Adriano.
Argentine fellow striker Andres Guglielminpietro made it 2-0 in the 38th minute and Ventola wrapped it up with his second goal in the 76th minute.
Brazilian Ronaldo, only recently back after 17 months out for knee surgery, came on as a substitute and played 40 minutes in the second half in place of Leite Ribeiro Adriano, who had suffered a back injury.
Ronaldo showed several spectacular touches but did not look as though he had fully recovered. Before the game he promised his numerous Romanian fans a goal but failed to deliver.
Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo was on hand in the 71st minute as Brasov's Ionut Isaila and Marius Onofras missed golden opportunities in the middle of the Italian penalty area.
