MADRID, Dec 7 (Reuters) - A devastating three-minute spell by Rayo Vallecano sealed a 2-0 victory over Lokomotiv Moscow in their UEFA Cup third round, second leg tie on Thursday.
Neither side managed to break the deadlock two weeks ago
when they played out a goalless draw in freezing conditions in
Moscow but goals from Elvir Bolic and Angel Alcazar were enough
to warm the hearts of Rayo fans and give their side a 2-0
aggregate win.
Lokomotiv's storming start had the Spanish side on the back
foot for much of the first half but the complexion of the match
was changed 20 minutes into the second half.
Michel and Bolic exchanged a sharp one-two which cut open
the Lokomotiv defence and the Bosnia international hammered the
ball home to give Rayo the lead.
Bolic was involved again three minutes later. His shot
rebounded off a post and fell to the advancing Alcazar who
finished confidently.
