Davor Suker
Club:
Shirt Number:
Position: Forward
Date of Birth: January 1, 1968
Birthplace: Osijek, Croatia
Height: 6'1"

Profile:

Joined West Ham in a summer free transfer after expressing his wish to stay in London after a largely disappointing season where he couldn't win a first-team place ahead of Henry and Bergkamp.

Was the leading scorer in the 1998 World Cup, having been a consistent goal scorer for Seville and Real Madrid during ten years in the Primera Liga and during the mid-1990's was thought to be one of the best strikers in the world, a view reinforced by his showings in Euro 96 and France 98.

His left foot puts dread into any goalkeeper and his predatory finishing and composure in front of goal make him a threat to any defence.

Injury wrecked his campaign with the Hammers and in May 2001 he left to the club to return to Croatia to work on his own charity. It is possible he may retire from the game.
