Mark Pembridge
Club: Everton
Shirt Number: 11
Position: Midfielder
Date of Birth: November 29, 1970
Birthplace: Merthyr Tydfil
Height: 5' 7"
Weight: 11.11

Profile:

Pembridge started his career with Luton Town, who were then enjoying life in the upper reaches of the game.

Made his name with the Hatters, where for a while he was one of the most coveted young midfielders in the league, before Derby County paid £1.25million for his services in the summer of 1992.

Spent three years at the Baseball Ground, playing almost 150 games, before David Pleat - who was in charge at Luton towards the end of Pembridge's career there - made him one of his first signings at Sheffield Wednesday for £900,000 in the summer of 1995.

Never really made much of an impression at Hillsborough, despite playing over 100 games, and left for Benfica on a Bosman at the end of the 1997/98 season.

Joined Everton for a fee of £800,000 from Benfica after one season in Portugal.

Made his Everton debut in a 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa before netting his first goal against Sunderland on Boxing Day.

However, his time at Goodison Park has been dogged by a series of injuries. By the start of the 2002/03 campaign he had played just 75 games in three seasons.

A left sided player with good work rate and a hard tackle, the Welsh international can play as a left wing-back or as a central midfielder.
