Leeds manager Terry Venables could walk away from the club with a £1million severance payment if his side lose their crucial clash at Bolton, according to reports.
The Elland Road strugglers have lost ten of the 17 league games played under Venables' management, and it has been claimed that another setback at the Reebok Stadium on Monday would signal the end of his reign.
Sources close to the club allege that the former England manager has been negotiating a pay-off with the Leeds board.
Another meeting between Venables and Leeds officials is scheduled for Tuesday - the day after the Bolton showdown.
Nottingham Forest boss Paul Hart and Leicester's Micky Adams have been linked with moves to Elland Road if Venables goes.
But one-time Leeds boss George Graham has backed Venables and urged that he be given time.
Graham added: 'Terry has not suddenly become a bad coach after four months at Leeds.
'There are a lot more problems at Leeds than anyone knows, and they won't be solved overnight.'
