The 25-year-old French international is currently negotiating
a new contract with the champions.
Speaking before the club's Champions League clash in
Auxerre, Henry said: 'Whatever sacrifices I have to make, I will
do it. Money is important to me but it is not the main thing.
'When I am on the pitch, I do not think about how much I can
earn. I'd rather be part of something special at a team like
Arsenal than have more money and perhaps be sitting on the bench
at a club I do not really like.'
Since Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger signed him from Juventus
for £10.5m in 1999, Henry has been the scourge of
defenders up and down the country.
He has already fired in eight goals this season, after
amassing 32 last term to finish top goalscorer in the Premiership.
'It's more important to be at a club where the people really
care,' he said. 'Arsenal gave me a hand when I was down and as
long as they want me I will never walk away.
'When France won the World Cup in 1998, I knew I had to
leave Monaco because I wasn't improving as a player. Having the
chance to work again with Arsene made all the difference.'
Wenger was understandably delighted to hear the thoughts of
his striker and paid tribute to him: 'I have known Thierry since he was 17 and
ever since he joined us he has improved every year.
'He is a more complete player. He scores and creates and has
even more influence on the team this year.'
