Giggs: We're back on track
By Chris Borg

Ryan Giggs says Manchester United are back on track after their 5-2 Champions League demolition of Maccabi Haifa at Old Trafford.

Giggs, who scored United's equaliser after the Israeli side had taken a shock lead, believes the five-goal show is the perfect tonic for a side who had managed just two in their previous four games.

He said: 'It just happens. Sometimes goal scorers don't score and it was even more pleasing that all five goals on Wednesday had different scorers.

'There are so many goals in the team. A lot of focus had been on Ruud (van Nistelrooy) and Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer) because they are the scorers, but you never lose it and I'm sure there's more to come.

'It was very a important result. Our last couple of games have brought us two defeats, so it was nice to win. We needed it. We played some good football as well.'

And Giggs also expressed his delight for team-mate Diego Forlan, whose late penalty was his first United goal in 27 attempts.

He added: 'There was a lot of pressure on him. He hadn't scored and the crowd were shouting for him to take it and that can put pressure on you. The fans realise he has been trying.'
