West Brom manager Gary Megson has hailed the two-year contract extension agreed by striker Jason Roberts as a sign that the Baggies are finally transforming their reputation as being a 'selling club'.

Roberts: Four-year deal (JohnWalton/Empics) |
Roberts, a £2m signing from Bristol Rovers in July 2000, has committed himself to the promoted Midlands club for the next four years.
Megson said: 'Jason has come on leaps and bounds since we took him from the
Second Division and him signing a new contract is really good news.
'What is really pleasing is that we're managing to keep hold of our best
players rather than selling them which is what we have had to do in the past.'
Roberts' only Premiership goal so far this season came in the 5-2 drubbing at Arsenal, but the 24-year-old is hoping to forge a strong partnership with re-signed Albion forward Lee Hughes.
Megson added: 'The signing of the extension has allowed Jason to sort out his long-term
future so he can settle down and continue playing in the vein he has been.
'He's producing a very good Premiership standard. All he needs to do is add
more goals to it.'
