The £3million-rated 23-year-old is due to fly home from London tonight after he and his agent spent two days in discussions at Highbury.

San Lorenzo president Alberto Guil told Argentinian newspaper Clarin: 'We gave him a special pass for Saja to talk to Arsenal in England, a club that has been following him and who he wanted to see personally.'

An Arsenal official watched Saja play in San Lorenzo's 2-2 draw with Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires last Sunday.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has yet to sign a replacement for Richard Wright after the England international left for Everton in a £3.5million pre-season move.
