Alpay: Wants to leave (GaryMPrior/Allsport) |
The defender, who has asked for a transfer, said Villa had lied about his request for a pay rise and warned that his perrmances may suffer as he is unsettled at Villa Park.
The 29-year-old played in yesterday's 1-0 home defeat against Liverpool `for
the manager and the supporters' but still has grievances about how he feels his
contract negotiations were handled.
`If I am playing football and I am not happy then it will affect my friends
and my club. I am not happy and I want to go,' Alpay said.
`It is up to the management. If they help me then yes, I will go before the
transfer window closes (on August 31). If it is possible I want to go tomorrow.
`I am sure the club do not want to keep an unhappy player because the
performances will not be good from me as I am unhappy.'
Leeds were reported to be interested in the Turkey international, who improved
his standing with some excellent performances in helping his country finish
third in the World Cup.
Alpay is furious about the way he claims Villa released incorrect details of
his wage demands.
`I didn't ask for 50 percent (wage increase). Even if it was 100 percent it is not the
subject.
`Everybody will know I didn't cause this because of the money and that I am
not the person who caused it,' he told the BBC.
