Inamoto: Scant chances to play for Gunners (JamieMcDonald/Allsport) |
Jean Tigana's side have signed Arsenal's Japanese World Cup star for around £2.5 million on a year's loan from Gamba Osaka with an option for a permanent move.
They believe the 22-yearold, who scored twice for Japan in the World Cup finals, will be one of the season's transfer coups.
The midfielder is set to make his debut in Saturday's InterToto Cup third round match against Greek side Aigaelo. Fulham scraped through the second round yesterday with a 1-1 draw against FC Haka in Finland.
Inamoto, who spent most of last season in the reserves and failed to make a single appearance in the Premiership, said: 'London still appeals to me. I have decided on my future.
'I will go to Fulham where they will play me. I have always thought it would be difficult to make it in England. It is very physical, but I can cope.'
Tigana, who has already snapped up striker Facundo Sava and goalkeeper Martin Herrera, has now targeted Vitesse Arnhem's Viktor Sikora.
The Dutch winger, who is also being tracked by Ajax, has spoken to several Dutch players in the Premiership, including Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Sikora said: 'The English league is the best to play in. I have spoken to Ruud, to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and to Boudewijn Zenden. They have all given me a few tips.'
