Oxford United forward Rob Folland is likely to be out for over a month after undergoing surgery on a hernia problem.
The 22-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular place this season and has not featured for the Us since the middle of November.
The striker, who joined Oxford as a trainee in 1997, has been struggling with a groin injury recently and has now had an operation on a hernia.
A club spokesman said: 'Folland had a hernia operation earlier in the week and is probably looking at March before he comes back.'
