Boa Morte told to cool it

Fulham striker Luis Boa Morte was today told to control his temper after it contributed to his sending off against Ipswich and the dropping of two points in the 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage.

Ipswich defender Fabian Wilnis alleged 24-year-old Boa Morte knocked him unconscious with a punch in the face.

Referee Mike Riley only cautioned Boa Morte for the 34th-minute incident but television replays appeared to show that he swung an arm after having his shirt pulled.

The Portugal international was lucky to stay on but his reprieve was short-lived and he was sent off in first-half injury time after beeing booked for diving.

Last season he was sent off once and received 15 yellow cards. His dismissal against Ipswich completed a miserable afternoon for he had already missed a penalty which would have put his side 2-0 in front.

Team-mate John Collins said the former Arsenal player's indiscipline cost Fulham a valuable win.

He said: 'His sending off changed the game and that was obvious. We were winning convincingly, in complete control and looking like we were going to go on and score a few goals.

'The referee was close by and we can only presume that he got it right. It was disappointing for us and for Luis and it probably cost us three points.'

Barry Hayles put Fulham in front after 21 minutes but Jermaine Wright equalised in the 57th minute.
