Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore believes his side 'got out of jail' in their 1-1 draw with Sheffield United. But he felt aggrieved with the penalty decision which cost them victory.
When Martin McIntosh handled a cross in the penalty area in the 65th minute, referee Graham Laws pointed to the spot and Laurent D'Jaffo scored.
Moore said: 'I thought the penalty was harsh. As a defender how can you close a man down with your hands by your side? It's not as if he (McIntosh) stretched out and pulled the ball down.
'But to be honest, I thought he (Laws) favoured them. I thought he gave them all the dubious decisions and they got the rub of the green.
'I realise referees give decisions like that. But you could tell he hadn't played the game before because if he had then he would have realised that Martin has not put his hand out and pulled the ball which I felt was driven at him from no more than five yards.
'But I suppose at the end of the day we got out of jail in the last minute with that header against our post.'
Moore feels his side will survive in the First Division, as he added: 'People are saying we will finish bottom and that it's just a question of who the other two teams will be.
'But we don't think that. There's a long way to go and I am confident we will surprise one or two teams in this division.'
