Full-time: QPR v Northampton
Soccernet.com

QPR made it six games without a win as their punchless strikeforce failed to dent resolute Northampton who went on to take all three points with a superb 1-0 win.

In truth it could have been more as the visitors created most of the chances while former QPR keeper Lee Harper did not really have a shot to save in the Northampton goal.

Paul Trollope scored the only goal of the game. Twice Jamie Forrester had fierce shots superbly blocked but the second one fell at the feet of Trollope who beat Simon Royce with a beautifully executed chip.

Royce had denied Northampton a first-half lead with a magnificent save from Marco Gabbiadini's close-range header while the nearest QPR came was Tommy Williams' free-kick.
